We’re delighted to announce the third in our series of feminars (feminist seminars!) on women and economics. The aim of the series is to promote economic literacy amongst LFN members and women in London generally, to inform ourselves about feminist and progressive perspectives on mainstream economics and to generate support for campaigns for economic justice for women.
Ann Pettifor, Executive Director, ‘Advocacy International’
Diane Elson, Professor of Sociology, Essex University; Chair of the UK Women’s Budget Group
Ann will ‘set the scene’, giving an introduction to economic concepts from a progressive perspective, explaining the current economic crisis and how we got here, and looking at alternatives to the Conservative-led government’s approach.
Diane will give an introduction to feminist economics and gender budgeting, and explain what a specifically feminist perspective introduces into economics debates.
